Jane Doe - RTC Promotional Pic.PNG

ACTRESS, SINGER, DANCER

"[Reusswig] swivel-chairs between that helpless and naïve sweetheart to a gnarled, revolting, belligerent beast."

-The Burg; The Exorcist review

"Reusswig's performance is brilliant- from her facial expressions to her body language to her haunting vocals, her Jane Doe is simultaneously creepy, forlorn, and sympathetic. Her soaring and emotional vocals in "The Ballad of Jane Doe" are chill-inducing, captivating the audience completely."
-Broadway World; Ride the Cyclone review

Bio

Emily, a graduate of the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, is a 24 year old triple threat who has been performing her whole life. Emily most recently appeared as Jane Doe in Ride the Cyclone at Open Stage of Harrisburg. Previously, you may have seen her as Young Jane in Off-Brand Opera's production of Jane Eyre or, her favorite role to date, as Regan MacNeil in the East Coast Premiere of The Exorcist (Oct. 2023). Other favorites include Let the Right One In (Eli), The Crucible (Abigail Williams), The Diary of Anne Frank (Anne Frank), and Wait Until Dark (Gloria). Although many of her favorite roles are from plays, most of Emily’s work has been in musical theatre productions. She studied Theatre and Dance at the Capital Area School for the Arts Charter School and studied voice with reputable instructors from the age of 7. She currently studies voice with Andrea DelGiudice, with whom Emily has been focusing on her classical training. In the summer of 2023, she had the opportunity to perform in her very first opera, Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, as the Dew Fairy, Sandman, and Featured Ballerina (Narni, Italy). You may have seen Emily perform at numerous theaters around the Central PA area, including the Fulton Theatre, Allenberry Playhouse, Carlisle Theatre, Oyster Mill Playhouse, Open Stage of Harrisburg and others. She is now based in New York City and looks forward to delving into more film and television work along with continuing to pursue live theatre and musicals. Emily’s love for the stage developed at a young age due to mentors that pushed her and believed in her, so she loves working with young artists to give them safe spaces and opportunities just as she did. Emily is a current Senior Teaching Artist at APTC. Outside of her work as an actress, Emily worked at Camp Kiniya for 6 years as a Cabin Leader and eventually a Division Head. She loves traveling and any adventure that takes place in nature. Also, an avid thrill-seeker, she loves roller coasters, zip lining, horror movies and any activity that gets her blood pumping and her palms sweaty. Emily believes that the best acting is open, raw and truthful and she prides herself on bringing that to the table every single time she performs.
